ISLANDER

A Journey Around Our Archipelago
An illustrated talk by Patrick Barkham

Taking us on a journey around some of Britain’s most intriguing small islands, meeting their wild residents – from Orkney voles to Bonxies. In this illustrated talk, he explores how small islands can be ecological laboratories, warning signals and sanctuaries – for wildlife and us. What do small islands tell us about our relationship with the natural world? Do small islands have big lessons for us on the mainland?

With an introduction from Richard Mabey, the acclaimed local nature writer and broadcaster, who describes Patrick as a rising star and a wonderful natural storyteller.
